Amanda & Craig’s wedding at Reading Town Hall
A Reading Town Hall wedding of one of my favourite families
I have a confession to make. This is not a recent wedding. In fact today is Amanda & Craig’s 2nd Wedding Anniversary – huge congratulations to you both!
While I do try to blog as many weddings as possible, sometimes life gets in the way. If it’s a particularly busy period then blogging goes out the window! I feel guilty spending time on a blog if there are other couples desperately excited about seeing their photos – editing these have to take priority. Sometimes these blogs never quite make it to the top of my to-do list.
This is one wedding that I’ve been desperate to show-off. Amanda and Craig are 2 of the loveliest people I have had the pleasure to spend time with, and I feel very lucky to now consider Amanda to be a friend. Her 2 eldest children are the best big brother & sister that the couple’s young twins could wish for. When Amanda’s son cried during the ceremony you couldn’t help but get caught up with his emotions as he watched his Mum marry her soulmate. One of the twins was so overcome by the day that she slept through the whole ceremony!
Reading Town Hall is a lovely location for a wedding, with three different rooms to hold the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception. Although there isn’t a dedicated outdoor area, the nearby Forbury Gardens offer the perfect backdrop for photos.
After the wedding I invited Amanda and Craig to my home for the evening so that I could show them the photos for the first time. I watched as they laughed and cried their way through the slideshow, a real privilege for me, as I don’t normally get to see people’s reactions to my images. It’s an evening that will always be one of the highlights of my career.
I also loved receiving the following e-mail from Amanda following the wedding:
“I don’t even know where to begin in thanking you for Saturday… you were totally amazing and I’m soooooo glad you agreed to do our photos.
You were not just a photographer that day but a friend and we totally enjoyed your company… just thank you so much.
Happy Anniversary to you both, hope you have some wonderful celebrations planned. xx
