Annika & James’ Notley Abbey wedding

I take full credit for Annika and James’s Notley Abbey wedding – want to know why?

I first met Annika and James at a wedding fair in January. They told me they’d been engaged for a really long time, but hadn’t got round to organising the wedding as one of them believed it would take a couple of years, the other that it could be done more quickly. I jokingly just told them to crack on with it, the important thing would be that they would be married, the wedding was just one day, it didn’t have to take over their lives for months or years. The following afternoon I received the following e-mail:

“It was great meeting you! Speaking to you was great and really helped us put things in perspective. Wow, you have definitely inspired us. . . . What’s your availability on Saturday 5th of May 2018?!?! *crosses fingers*”

I could not have been more excited. Amazing couple, the stunning Notley Abbey as a venue, I could not wait.

On the day I was blown away by what they achieved in such a short period of time. This looked like a wedding that had been years in the planning, not four months. There was so much attention to detail, and so many beautiful, personal touches.

The outfits were fabulous – Annika looked amazing, and I loved the peacock lining on the men’s jackets – just have a look at the posed peacock photo!

I loved working with the videographer Marc Shipperley who was not only great company, but who helped me out when I randomly fell over when out taking photos. Thank you Marc!

But what I loved most about this wedding at Notley Abbey wasn’t the venue, the food, the entertainment, the decorations or any of the ‘stuff’ that goes with planning a wedding, what I loved most was that it was all about Annika and James. It was about their love for each other, the love and support from their family and friends, and that this was about them committing themselves to each other.  It was an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be part of. Thank you both for trusting me to capture your day for you, I wish you both a lifetime of happiness. x

    Hi Cheryl
Thank you for providing such wonderful memories of Annika & James’ wedding day. I’m not sure how they will ever choose an album selection from all the brilliant photographs you took but the blog is a great start
    Best regards
