Tineke & Aaron’s Old Luxters wedding

The perfect autumnal wedding at the gorgeous Old Luxters Barn

October weddings are always a bit unpredictable. It can be freezing cold and pouring with rain one day, then warm and sunny the next. Tineke and Aaron were lucky that the weather could not have been better, with perfect clear blue skies, and a warm glow that enveloped all their guests. I loved the chimineas provided by Old Luxters Barn which also provided some additional warmth.

I absolutely loved the orange and red colour theme for the wedding, just perfect for this time of year. Tineke’s bouquet, supplied by Linda Jane’s florist was so striking it almost looked unreal, and Aaron’s socks could not be missed. It was a nice touch that Tineke’s car, provided by Allerston Taylor & Regency Carriages even had a matching ribbon. Even the registrar inadvertently matched the colour theme.

Tineke and her family are from Holland, and although the two families had not had much opportunity to meet previously, there was clearly so much joy that the two families had now been brought together through Aaron and Tineke’s marriage. The couple didn’t want to follow convention for every part of their day, and in particular wanted to avoid an awkward first dance. I loved the games they had arranged to keep their guests entertained during the evening reception, including table football, jenga and a Dutch shuffleboard game called Sjoelbak. It was addictive to watch, but much harder than it looked to play! Aaron’s Dad had also arranged some questions as part of a Mr & Mrs game, which was quite revealing regarding the personalities of the couple – this is why they are holding their shoes in the air in some of the photos! Questions such as ‘Who is the messiest’ and ‘Who is the most organised’ generally received the same response from both of them, but not always!

Aaron’s brother and Dad were joint best men, and put together a lovely speech which included lots of photos from both Aaron and Tineke’s past, including her life in Holland. I love these glimpses into people’s lives who I only get to know for such a short period of time.

Congratulations to you both, and thank you for having me along. I wish you both every happiness for the future.
