Anna & Toby

A laid back wedding in the beautiful Fison Barn.

A dark wintery night in January is a great time to catch up on some blogging, something I readily admit to being guilty of neglecting. During the busy summer months it’s easy to move quickly from editing one wedding to the next, out of a desire to ensure no one is kept waiting long for their photos. It’s therefore lovely to come back to weddings with the luxury of time, and pore over the images of a very special day.

Anna and Toby held their wedding in the beautiful Fison Barn, part of the Earth Trust Centre at the foot of the Wittenham Clumps near Oxford. They wanted their wedding to have a laid-back, party feel, and it really was a relaxed, fun and joyful day.

A small group of their friends and family joined them for the ceremony in the barn, after which they all had tea and snacks before gathering everyone together for some family photos. The 3 of us nipped off for a few photos against the beautiful backdrop of the Oxfordshire countryside, allowing Anna and Toby to make their entrance back at the party with the rest of guests who had arrived.

Anna’s stunning bouquet had been made by her mum, and one of her bridesmaids made the wedding cake. The catering was organised by Russell from the Sonning Common Butchers and included a hog roast, which always goes down well with guests.

The lack of a more formal seating plan helped keep the laid back feel, and people sat or stood as they listened to speeches from Anna’s dad and Toby’s best man.

Some weddings are hard to leave, and I suspect the remainder of this party was going to be a good one.

Congratulations Anna and Toby, it was a fab day.
